| Uncle Suen's new language policy for all secondary schools...don't think that would make any enormous change to my teaching style...used to speak quasi-naive English (with so-called "Dutch" accents) to my F.1 students in class...oh well...seldom asked how much they did understand...boys and girls, I do share your concern (if you have any) on the rapid change of education policy here in HK...to be honest, I wish you all would have the opportunity to study abroad and widen your horizon...be exposed to the "real world" outside Hong Kong...we all need space to contemplate and breathe...have you ever asked the questions like "Who am I" and "What's the meaning of life"? So, life is...? Don't ask others, feel it yourself!! Let's "fine-tune" together!! | | |
| I have never attended a staff meeting like the one I attended this afternoon. The meeting began with a short singspiration session leading by the new principal. She continued to share the details about her application for the principal position. It was an interesting sharing...her story reminded me God's leadership. I still believe He did provide similar "magic touch" on my application for the teaching post... After finishing her sharing, the principal proceeded to a prayer...wow!! A staff meeting beginning with a prayer...how wonderful!!! I am glad to have the opportunity to serve at my mother school. Now, I have more opportunities to share with my students during daily (other than teaching music for F. 1 and F.3, I also have to teach religious studies for F.1 to F.4). Thank God for bringing MC a devoted Christian principal...I believe He has already prepared the best working place for me to serve Him!! Hallelujah!! | | |
| Just came back from Zhongshan...checking my voicemail on board and found out I have to attend several staff meetings in early August...wow...I guess my summer vacation has almost come to an end...also, I am going to be the reading class teacher (sort of co-class teacher) of F.1B...that's interesting...now I am looking forward to meet my kids at MC... Have to attend a two-day F.6 orientation camp during the penultimate weekend of August...what's the point of asking an out-of-contract junior form music teacher to entertain those new dummies? Lack of "human" resources at TPGSS? Huh? What a "perfect" arrangement!! | | |
| I would like to listen to your opinions regarding the following issue: You have just accepted a decent job offer and signed the contract without any consideration. Yet, three months before starting your new job, you're told that your boss-to-be (also your interviewer) had just resigned... What a weird situation!! How would you react if you were facing such situation? | | |
| Dear friends, I have already accepted a job offer from Methodist College, my mother school, in early May. In other words, I am going to leave TPGSS at the end of August. I have to thank my colleagues and my dear students for bringing me so much precious memories. Without their help and support, I could not have gone through all challenges in the past two years. Teaching at my mother school is not only a new challenge, but also the fulfillment of my dream. Yet, it is not going to be an easy task because I have to teach music and religious education. Sounds scary, right? Apart from this, I am going to be responsible for organizing the school's 50th anniversary thanksgiving worship...sounds like a large-scale and solemn ceremony...anyway, I know God has taken me to a new stage in my life and it's time for me to count my blessings now...
